A Taste of Olive Basic Balsamic Vinaigrette
1/4 cup A Taste of Olive Balsamic Vinegar
2 tsp. Dijon mustard (more or less to taste, helps to emulsify and thicken vinaigrette)
1 tsp. sea salt, to taste
Freshly ground black pepper
3/4 cup A Taste of Olive Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Whisk together first four ingredients in a bowl. Add olive oil in a slow, steady stream whisking to combine.
Toss lightly with mixed greens and serve. Remember to toss right before serving and don’t overdress.
You can add one or more of these ingredients for additional flavor: minced shallot, garlic, chopped fresh herbs, spoonful of tapenade, a dash of soy sauce or a few drops of honey. Don’t just think of vinaigrette as only a salad dressing, but use your favorite as a marinade, too!
